All about the JURA X4 – black coffee, 5-liter tank

The X4 is built for black coffee in volume without plumbing: a 5 liter water tank, a 500 g bean container that extends to 1 kg and room for about 40 servings in the grounds container, for up to 80 cups a day. The P.A.G.2 grinder, three brewing processes and One-Touch Lungo cover espresso, coffee and long coffees. Bean container and tank lock, and MDB Connect lets you add a payment system.

The X4 is the step up from the W4 when a team of black-coffee drinkers outgrows a 3 liter tank: a production site, a warehouse office, a coworking floor. The 5 liter tank still needs refilling on a full day; with a tap nearby, add the optional JURA fresh water kit or choose the JURA X4c. As soon as cappuccino is asked for, look at the JURA X10.

Frequently asked questions

How many people is the JURA X4 for?
JURA recommends up to 80 cups a day. Counting about 3.3 cups per person per working day, that is a team of around 24 people. Check your peak too: if everyone takes a coffee in the same ten minutes, size up.

What is the difference between the X4 and the X4c?
The X4c connects to the water supply (3/8 inch thread) and keeps a 2.8 liter tank; the X4 runs from a 5 liter tank (fixed connection with the optional fresh water kit). Both make black coffee only.

Can visitors or staff pay for a coffee on the JURA X4?
The machine is ready for it: JURA lists MDB Connect and MDB Interface 2.0, plus Pocket Pilot 2.0 and 3.0. The payment terminal or accessory is a separate item; tell us how you want people to pay and we include it in the quote.

Who keeps it clean, and how long does it take?
Your team can do it without a cleaner. Daily: empty the grounds container and the drip tray while the machine is switched on, and top up the tank with fresh water. When the machine asks for it, roughly every 180 preparations, run the cleaning program with a JURA cleaning tablet. Change the CLARIS filter when the machine signals it; with the filter in use you do not need to descale.
